“The Afro-Caribbean Alliance: Reimagining Solidarity, Sovereignty & South–South Cooperation., ”
The Global Power Forum (GPF) – New York 2025 brings together a powerful lineup of speakers—visionary heads of state, dynamic policymakers, trailblazing entrepreneurs, policy leaders and cultural icons from Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. These global influencers will converge in New York City to share bold ideas, lived experiences, and actionable strategies—addressing pressing issues like sustainable development, public service innovation, diaspora capital, and cultural diplomacy.
Solidarity is the foundation upon which the Afro-Caribbean alliance is built. It is a reaffirmation of the deep cultural ties, shared historical experiences, and common destiny that bind Africa and the Caribbean across oceans and generations. But solidarity in 2026 must go beyond symbolism — it must be active, structured, and strategic. Through diplomacy, education, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connections, IFAL 2026 seeks to transform shared identity into shared action. With a global diaspora of over 200 million people, the Afro-descendant world possesses an extraordinary reservoir of talent, influence, and collective will. When mobilised with intention, this solidarity becomes one of the most powerful forces in international affairs.

Sovereignty is a call to reclaim the narrative. For too long, Africa and the Caribbean have operated within global financial, political, and governance systems that were not designed with their interests at the centre. IFAL 2026 challenges both regions to assert economic independence, build institutional resilience, and demand policy autonomy in the spaces where decisions about their futures are made — from global climate negotiations to international financial architecture, from debt sustainability frameworks to digital governance. True sovereignty means that Africa and the Caribbean do not merely participate in global conversations — they help shape them. It means building institutions strong enough to withstand external pressures, and leadership bold enough to speak truth to power on behalf of their people.
